We are excited to announce that November 29th kicks off our exciting new program: “Week of Giving.”
Our Week of Giving kicks off with the nationally celebrated “Giving Tuesday.” This special day is in response to Black Friday and Cyber Monday as a day to celebrate nonprofit organizations by donating to your favorite causes. During this season of gratitude, it's important to look past consumerism and shed light on all the great charity work that takes place in our communities.
We may be biased, but our favorite nonprofit charity is Golden Valley Educational Fundation (GVEF) and all gifts to GVEF are fully tax deductible and go directly to our schools, supporting the programs that make our schools a unique Waldorf experience.
Starting on Giving Tuesday, and all week long, GVEF volunteers will be stationed at both schools during drop off and pick up. You should be able to identify them by their
green and gold shirts. We hope, during this time of caring and giving, you will take the opportunity to give an extra generous gift to help fund our schools’ great work. Our volunteers are there to answer any questions about GVEF you might have and to accept any donation you are willing to give.
We are so grateful to all of the Annual Giving Campaign (AGC) participants and to those that have volunteered their time or finances to support our schools. We depend on your generosity to create an environment where our children can thrive. While California does provide funds to Golden Valley Charter schools, the sad reality is that virtually every public school—not just charter schools—must fundraise to supplement programs beyond basic education. Your contributions allow us to continue quality programs including music, art, gardening, foreign languages and the other programs that make our schools a unique Waldorf experience.
We hope you will help us celebrate this “Week of Giving” by either joining our Annual Giving Campaign or giving a special one-time gift to help strengthen our community. Any gift—whatever the amount—will be greatly appreciated. We’ll have volunteers onsite at both the River and Orchard schools to receive your gifts or answer any questions you might have about GVEF. You can also give online.
